In poche parole davo per scontato che una rete mesh la si crea solo con dispositivi compatibili, però è anche vero che in molti casi una rete mesh nemmeno è necessaria affinché i device client gestiscano il passaggio da un ap o repeater che sia all'altro.
Perciò non capivo il senso della tua precisazione. Tutto qui.
Toponchio test interessante sarebbe rendere stabili per connessioni del genere i test fatti su rotte estere note, per vedere quanto si perde.

No No, Se sei di Palermo ed il tuo operatore ha il BRAS a Palermo stesso significa che esci subito dalla rete open stream ed usi la rete dell'ISP per arrivare da Palermo a Milano.
Quindi non si e' impattati da qualsiasi problema o aumento di latenza dovuti alla rete Open Fiber a meno che questo non sia nella tratta casa->BRAS.

ho visto che QNAP offre anche questo modello di Router: QHora 322, con più porte 10Gbit e 6 da 2.5Gbit, qualcuno sa confermarmi la compatibilità con questa connessione?

Attivato oggi, per ora con WAN del router 10G ma schede di rete e porte LAN 1G, principalmente mi interessa 1G a dispositivo e sotto questo aspetto direi ottima anche in upload:

Sto ONT tira parecchio ed in maniera stabile anche in singola sessione TCP (con tachimetro che si aggiorna ogni 250ms):

Eh con calma, tanto 1G a dispositivo mi vanno benissimo.
A proposito: l’ONT è F2801S marchiato OF, non so se esista anche una versione diversa senza S in commercio o sia sempre lo stesso in ogni caso.
Mi chiedevo: ma collegando questo ONT ad una linea GPON funzionerebbe? È retrocompatibile?
