Ciao a tutti
Parlo abbastanza bene l'italiano ma ho paura di scrivere troppi errori allora scrivo questo post in Inglese. Rispondete tranquillamente in Italiano. Sono Belga e i misteri del mercato telefonico Italiano mi lasciano un po' perplesso, quindi spero di ricevere un buon consiglio qui.
So currently I love in 21021 Angera, and we are a client of Windtre. In August however we are moving to 21020 Taino, a few kilometers away. I work remotely so having a secure connection is important to me. We had Fastweb here before and the connection was OK but we were unhappy with the customer service, hence we switched to Wind. Also they slapped us with 200eur costs for the modem (spread out over several years) which seems excessive. We have been Wind customers (only FTTC no mobile) for about 8 months. We get around 60Mbps right now which is fine, no need for personal FTTH connection.
My question is the following: I read that Wind applies a moving cost of 72EUR. And I am a little worried about depending on a technician coming out in August. If it takes a few weeks we won't have a connection in the new house, even if I need to work = not good. So I was thinking to end the contract in September (through PEC) and start a new contract straight away on the new address? Is that a bad idea?
I came across Switcho. I have great experiences with the kind of in between merchants in Belgium (e.g. for electricity and gas) but here in Italy friends tell me to avoid them. What is the expert opinion on them? Should I just go through them and activate a new contract at the new house, and in parallel end the old contract here myself? Or can Switcho do both for me?
Or should I instead ask Windtre for relocation despite the cost/risk?
When it comes to choosing a package: any tips on ISPs to avoid? Packages to choose? I am open to also getting a SIM card subscription, hoping to be covered with around 35eur per month for fiber + mobile. Also considering buying my own modem rather than getting it included with the subscription. Would that be worth it? In addition I work freelance with p.IVA so I could detract costs. Is it worth it? Business connections seem more expensive?
Offers available through Switcho
According to the BUL website, Taino is in the process of being covered (since 2023...). Our house is not very close to any of the black lines. Is it worth waiting for this/planning to connect to Fibre sometime next year or might it take forever?
Thank you for your time and advice.
