Hi IceG, is topenvpn available in your firmware?
I see luci-openvpn but it seems kmod-tun is not installed and can't be installed via update:

The installed version of package kernel is not compatible, require 5.10.139-1-954964c0… while 5.10.139-1-5ea08bd4… is installed.

And openvpn binary is not present.

first of all thanks IceG for the great work you did, you made the use of this router an "out of the box" experience with all the plugins you created. Thanks a lot 🙂

So, I am here for a problem that I had using your firmware. Some weeks ago I tried to install some packages from the regual OpenWrt repositories, but when installing I got an error saying that the kernel version was not compatible with the one expected by the packages requested. Unfortunately I don't have the precise message I was presented, as I had to install the official firmware from OpenWrt to use the packages I needed.

Do you know about this issue?

iv82 that's a problem of snapshot build.
Kernel modules cannot be installed from original repos, you should build your own version and add custom kernel modules 🙂

I build images from the Master which has good (I can add something to the image that is still being tested, but has nice functionality) and bad sides (frequent changes in the source, kernel version).

There are 3 ways to do this:
1) Using regular OpenWrt with my repository added (which gives partial functionality with my images).
2) Installing packages right after my compilation, then there is a good chance of source compatibility.
3) Providing packages from my build in my repository. (that would be the best solution, I just don't know if enough packages are being built with my compilation.)

Ok, I think I will go for the official OpenWrt firmware, and installing Ice's plugins. I did that and the router is working just fine 🙂

I have another question btw: from time to time (but at least once a day) I get myself with the GSM modem stuck, no connection or slow connection (even if the information about the modem say that everything's fine). Sometimes restarting the modem interface solves the problem, but most of the times I have to restart the whole router. Logs do not show anything special, or better anything at all, so I am a bit puzzled about this.
I am thinking about setting a watchdog for this.

Are you aware of such a problem with this router?

(the modem firmware currenctly is BD_TELIAMF286DV1.0.0B12)

Update: this issue occurred right now; strangely enough, rebooting the modem interface does not change the situation, but disabling/enabling the wifi radios does the trick. I don't know what's going on there...

I see.
I think that by adding your plugins to the master firmware I already found a way to solve this problem of adding other packages that are not included in your build 😉
