mark129 Ceaus FWA is not possible as we don't have a base station nearby (TIM, Vodafone, WindTre). With the right CPE you can rely upon a BTS up to 10km away (or so about). However, if there were substantial physical obstacles (hills, high woods and so on), please disregard this advice.
Ceaus With all the great advice given, I though an update would be in place. After researching various options I've chosen for a local/regional ISP (http://www.hiperlanwifi.it/). He bolted an FWA antenna onto my roof and set me up with a decent internet connection. His base antenna is 5 km away with a clean line of sight between two hill tops. This is more than enough for holidays coverage and some occasional working from home. Just to let you know and thanks again! 😀
